Translate your first video
Donghua Mate translates the subtitles of a YouTube video into the language you picked. This is how to start.
Steps
- Open a video that has subtitles. Any YouTube video with Chinese or English subtitles works. The video's own subtitles show as usual.
- Click "Translate this video" in the player. The button rises from the Donghua Mate cloud in the player's control bar and shows how many points the video uses.
- Watch in your language. After a moment the subtitles switch to your language and follow the video as it plays.
Translate without clicking
Open the Donghua Mate menu in the browser toolbar and turn on Translate automatically. Shows we support, and channels you translated before, then translate as soon as you open them. With the switch off, a video you already translated still shows its translation straight away.
Good to know
- You need to be signed in to translate. During the private test, accounts are opened with an invite code.
