Cover the burned-in Chinese subtitles
Most donghua have Chinese subtitles burned into the picture. By default Donghua Mate places the translation just above them, so both stay readable. If you would rather not see the Chinese, cover it.
Steps
- Open Settings. Click the Donghua Mate cloud in the player's control bar, then the Settings tab.
- Turn on Cover burned-in subtitles. A frosted strip appears over the Chinese line, and the translation sits on the strip.
- Adjust it if it misses. Drag the subtitles up or down to move the strip over the Chinese. Double-click to put it back where it was.
Good to know
- The strip is as wide as the Chinese line it covers, and it fades out between lines.
- Turn the switch off again to go back to the translation above the Chinese.
